“10 Forms of House Isawa” #4: “School Gate.” In which Kasu picks up Emi from school, and arrived in her work attire complete with the shitkicker boots that say “I am here to advocate for my daughter and I will not be moved.”

(Confluence) 10 Forms of House Isawa #3- “Laughter”

Kasu laughs, probably because of something River said to lift her spirits. It’s a comfortably warm summer day in Miyagi. Behind Kasu is the Sendai City Museum.

Next in the “10 Forms” series is #2, “Platform.” House Isawa– River, Emi, and Kasu– wait for a train on the platform at Sendai Station. River and Emi are distracting each other, Kasu is actually watching out for the train. Full version with commentary at

I’m setting a challenge for myself to switch up poses and expressions, as I continue art for the Confluence series. First up is Kasu in historic hunting attire, standing over the coast at Rikuchu Kaigan.

I’m setting a challenge for myself to switch up poses and expressions, so this is the start of a 10 picture series called 10 Forms of House Isawa. First up is Kasu in historic hunting attire, standing over the coast at Rikuchu Kaigan.

This isn’t until much later in the Confluence series, but something we’re going to see later on is River M59A1 and Isawa Kasu as mothers to their daughter Emi.

I’ve been taking great comfort lately in drawing everyday moments from their lives, like this one from dress shopping, because drawing the trans mothers of a trans daughter is representation I think the world also needs.

A brief FAQ to my novels:

1. They’re structured like a Noh play
2. I put the booklists in the back to show my work
3. No I’m not going to answer questions on the mechanics of time travel
4. No there is no tragic ending
5. The point is the happy lesbians, dammit

When in doubt, refer to #5.

Now, any other questions?
