After she came out as trans, the erstwhile heir apparent
to the august Isawa line had confused more than a few
people with her choice of a new nam
e.

Why ‘kasu’? they would ask. That’s not usually a name. Doesn’t that mean ‘dregs’?

Because I relate to the dolls the world chewed up and spat out, was Isawa Kasu’s ready reply.

I see some of my Armenian siblings out there posting “Save Christian Armenians” in response to the renewed Nagorno-Karabagh crisis, and with all due respect: don’t predicate this on religion. Those of us who are Christian aren’t even all the same kind of Christian.

It should be “Save Armenians.” Period. We all deserve dignity and safety.

I, one of your Shintoist kinfolk, beseech you.

On Friday, it will have been 17 years since I left Sendai.

Every year, this anniversary gets a little harder. I don’t know what it’s going to take to come back, but I have tried to live my life “pointing” in that direction.

Perhaps, gods willing, the day will come that I succeed.

This post of mine from Mastodon made it to Facebook, and people thought I was making a point about worshipping Jesus as a kami rather than what I was actually fucking doing, which was satirizing this Great Season of Kringlefuckening and Christian cultural hegemony from a Shinto POV, as @jewwhohasitall does in the #MedinatAmerica hashtag from a Jewish POV.

nice to see the birdsite isn’t the only place where nuance goes to die, I suppose.
